Synopsis

This is not only an interview record of single women living in two major cities, Beijing and Shanghai, but also a "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" that reflects the various forms of love between men and women in China's current cities. Women learn to love themselves from it, and men understand women from it. I traveled between Beijing and Shanghai three times, using a small voice recorder to record the true emotions of 31 single women for 140 hours. Due to space limitations, in the end, 16 emotional stories of single women were selected and presented to readers as the first part of this series. The 16 single women appearing in this book are not all non-marriageists. There are also many who long for marriage and some who have been divorced. They are not all older unmarried young women between 28 and 40 years old in the traditional sense. The youngest is 23 years old, which is what we commonly call the post-90s generation, and the oldest is 44 years old and belongs to the post-70s generation. Their occupations and identities are also different: there are company executives, magazine editors, secretaries of foreign companies, private business owners, teachers, translators, models, and popular female guests who have appeared on the famous dating show "If You Are the One".
