An Army Husband Protects His First Love: I Don't Want This Man Anymore

In the winter of the 1970s, military wife Lin Shu clutched the handmade padded jacket she'd made for her sixth wedding anniversary, only to spot her husband, Lu Zheng, strolling through the supply cooperative with his dream girl, Su Wan. All three wore matching military coats, and even the silver lock her mother had left her was now adorning Su Wan's neck. Throughout their six-year marriage, Lin Shu had been nothing more than a tool for producing heirs to the Lu family and a servant to her in-laws. Her husband's tenderness was reserved entirely for his “frail, sickly” dream girl, and even their daughter, Lu Xiaoxue, kept asking for “Auntie Su” to be her mother.

It wasn't until Lin Shu uncovered the truth that Su Wan had been faking her illness that she realized their marriage had been a complete and utter sham. She dried her tears and fought her way back with her financial talents and scientific skills, transforming from a disregarded military wife into a technical expert admired by all. But one remark from her mother-in-law, “I knew all along,” exposed why Lu Zheng had kept delaying the divorce and led Lin Shu to uncover her true origins. In the end, Lin Shu made both the scumbag and his dream girl pay, found real happiness, and became the most satisfying comeback story in the military housing compound of the 1970s.
