The coexistence of "angels" and "devils"... Human nature is a set of inherent, contradictory, and plastic psychological and behavioral tendencies formed by human beings in the process of evolution. It contains both the noble potential that drives us to cooperate, care, and create, and the primitive instincts that drive us to compete, selfishly, and attack. Ultimately, what a person looks like is the result of the continuous interaction between his inner tendencies and the external environment (including culture, family, education, and institutions).
An appropriate metaphor is: Human nature is like a piece of uncarved jade. It has its natural texture (biological basis), but it will eventually become a work of art or a stubborn stone, which depends to a large extent on acquired carving (social environment). Recognizing the complexity and contradictions of human nature is the first step for us to understand ourselves and society, and ultimately lead to tolerance and progress.
