Adapted from the screenplay of the same name by Lu Min, Zhang Yu, Wang Haotian, and Liu Jingyun, this story is based on the true events involving Wu Shi, Zhu Feng, and others from 1949 to 1950.
In August 1949, with Fuzhou on the verge of liberation, Wu Shi, then deputy director of the Fujian Pacification Headquarters of the “National Government,” had already decided to defect on the eve of battle. But he received a personal order from Chiang Kai-shek to go to Taiwan and serve as deputy chief of staff of the “Ministry of National Defense.” To hasten the liberation of the country, Wu Shi chose to remain undercover at the heart of enemy territory.
Meanwhile, Communist Party member Zhu Feng was working underground in Hong Kong on economic affairs. She had already received approval from the Party to return to Shanghai and reunite with her family. But when she learned that the courier her superiors had sent to Taiwan had been discovered because of an invalid entry permit, she resolutely gave up her return to Shanghai. Using her own valid permit, she went to Taiwan to serve as Wu Shi's courier.
Together, they sent their superiors intelligence about the Southwest Campaign and the enemy's plans to bomb Shanghai, rendering great service to their country. On June 10, 1950, Wu Shi, Zhu Feng, and their comrades faced death with courage. Their blood was shed at Machangting in Taipei. They fell at daybreak, but their achievements will live forever.
After watching the TV series, I also watched "Silent Glory" adapted by Lu Min. I express my respect and remembrance for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives, and I am also impressed by the feelings of family and country of Wu Shi, Zhu Feng, Chen Baocang and Nie Xi. The meaning of life is to leave lofty spiritual wealth to the world, that is, the feelings of family and country.
I have already bought the biography of Wu Shi and the film and TV drama version of the novel. I also read the e-book here before receiving it. I also watched the TV series for the second time. Teacher Yu Hewei played the role very well. The story of General Wu Shi is so touching. After that, ❤️ also watched a lot of videos and articles on the Internet. The Donghai group died generously together, which made people unable to let go for a long time. The heroes on the hidden front are secretive and great. I have also been to the Xishan Unknown Heroes Memorial Square, and I really went there with high respect. The novel and film adaptation were very successful, giving the story of Wu Shi and his comrades a second life.
Generally speaking, the content is detailed and makes you want to read it. However, there are some missing sentences that cannot be connected. When you read it again, the chapters are out of order. I don't know whether it is the platform's fault or the author's fault!
They chose a glorious and lonely road. They died for the reunification of the motherland. They are heroes that our descendants will always respect and commemorate (🇨🇳^‿^)/🎉
The plot is full of twists and turns and I want to read it in one sitting!
After watching the TV series and reading the original novel, I was shocked again! Pay tribute to Wu Shi and other heroes!
It's very good. I've never been a fan of espionage books, but I wanted to read this one in one go, even though I already knew the ending.
Beautiful, very touching
Very well written and beautiful.
A good book is a good book
