The story takes place in the "Misty City" and surrounding "Fog Towns" that are shrouded in fog all year round. The protagonist Lin Yuanming is a private detective who has resigned from the police force and is famous for his keen insight. The triggering event was the theft of "bright jewelry" - a masked man committed a crime on a foggy night and left a silver symbol. The police were helpless and shop owner Su Wan asked Lin Yuanming for help.

1. Clues unfold: The symbols are related to the unsolved serial thefts ten years ago. There are similar marks at the scene; the fog concentration at the crime scene is abnormal, and the sound of bells still remains. 2. Core confrontation: Lin Yuanming used a pocket watch (fog core key) and "fog guard pattern" fragments to activate the seal, trapping the main force of the "Fog Shadow Society" and hiding the fog heart in Fog Town.
