To pay for his mother’s medical treatment, Lin Zhao works the night shift as a security guard at a museum, where the captain makes his life difficult at every turn. During a late-night patrol, a bronze cauldron suddenly begins to hum, activating the Heavenly Fate Sign-in System! His midnight sign-in rewards him with the ancient cultivation art, The Primordial Jade Balance Scripture. As he draws qi into his body, he awakens the Eye of Appraisal, which can see the secrets hidden inside antiques. He discovers a map to the cultivation world hidden in the museum’s prized bronze cauldron, and that a chipped bowl at a night market stall is actually an ancient magical artifact. Even the captain who gives him trouble has stolen relics in his pocket! Lin Zhao takes advantage of every opportunity: he helps Curator Zhao restore a damaged ancient manuscript and receives a thousand-year-old vermilion fruit; he finds a bargain at an antiques market and earns enough for his mother’s surgery in a single night. When black-robed men from the Blood Demon Hall come to steal the bronze cauldron, he uses his Eye of Appraisal to see through their disguises and sends one flying with a single punch! “Captain Li, that string of Buddhist prayer beads you stole is filled with baleful energy. Hand it over before it makes you explode!”
