Underworld Judge: I Walk Between the Worlds in My Grandfather's Place

Chen Yu grew up with his grandfather, a spirit medium who served the immortals. He never imagined that the bizarre stories his grandfather told were all true. Then his grandfather died mysteriously while away from home. On the night of the seventh day after his death, a cold Judge’s Brush pierced Chen Yu’s palm. Blood sealed the pact, yellow paper served as proof, and eight bloody characters announced the complete upheaval of his fate: “Walk between yin and yang, wield the power over life and death.”

Forced to inherit his grandfather’s mantle, Chen Yu faced a red-clad vengeful ghost the very first time he performed a reading. With life hanging by a thread, the gates of the underworld swung open and his deceased grandfather stepped through. “This is my grandson. He’ll carry out my duties in the human world.” Those words thrust Chen Yu straight into the realm between yin and yang.

From then on, he was both a humble spirit medium in the human world, helping people solve their troubles, and an officially appointed proxy judge of the underworld, ruling on cases of the dead, judging ghosts, and traveling between the two realms. The truth behind his grandfather’s death was shrouded in mystery, while dark currents stirred beneath the underworld. Ancient grudges and lurking demons gradually drew Chen Yu into a vast whirlpool.

With the Judge’s Brush in hand and his grandfather’s unfinished duties on his shoulders, Chen Yu has no choice but to carve out his own path in a world where humans and ghosts mingle, and gods and demons coexist, until he uncovers the ultimate secret.
