Shen Luming, once the queen of overachievers, now a cannon-fodder character who jumped into a river.
She opens her eyes in 1990, in the body of a downtrodden country girl with a spineless father and a poisonous stepmother. From the start, they're trying to force her into a marriage swap.
Shen Luming whips out her “Family Split-Up KPI Assessment Form,” leaving her awful relatives completely at a loss.
“Family infighting? Think bigger. My goal is to boost the whole village's GDP!”
She sees the world a little differently:
The old yellow ox at the village entrance = sustainable farming equipment (upgrade pending)
The nosy aunt next door = an intelligence-gathering NPC (potential informant)
Even the village Party secretary is just a “key faction reputation-grinding target” in her eyes!
While everyone else is still fighting over work points, she's using “customer profiling” to sell free-range eggs to the supply and marketing cooperative, and “viral marketing” to make the whole village's spicy pickled cabbage famous across the county.
Her stepmother wails, “You've worked your way through the entire family fortune!”
Shen Luming calmly spreads her hands. “Don't spread rumors. At most, I restructured the assets.”
Later, the aloof technician from the Agricultural Sciences Academy corners her. “Your hybrid rice data is wrong.”
She tosses him a thirty-page field experiment report. “The margin of error is 0.5%. Your model is what needs fixing.”
The technician looks at the vegetable plots behind her, equipped with automated irrigation, and villagers selling produce on livestreams. He falls into deep thought. “You call this farming?”
Shen Luming smiles. “To be precise, this is ‘Building an Agricultural Tech Incubator in the 1990s.’”
