The morning mist over Wangchao Village slowly cleared. The rising sun climbed above the reefs, dyeing the sea gold and crimson. Old fisherman A Fu slung his net over his shoulder and walked out of his home, humming a fishing song as he prepared to take his little boat out to fish in the coastal waters.
He didn't notice the wooden slat half buried in the sand beneath the reef, with a faintly carved character for "Lotus" on it. Even less did he foresee that something would be hauled from the East Sea that day, something powerful enough to throw the entire martial world into turmoil and shatter the village's peace forever.
In autumn, the morning mist along the East Sea is always thicker than elsewhere.
The people of this village, called Wangchao, had made their living from fishing for generations, far removed from the conflicts of the martial world. Even the "Lotus Tower Cliff-Fall Case," which had shaken the martial arts world three years ago, had become nothing more than a topic of conversation for old fishermen over drinks.
Some said Li Xiangyi, former leader of the Four Gu Sect, had been killed by his enemies. Others said he'd used the fall from the cliff to disappear. Some even claimed that a giant sea turtle in the East Sea had devoured his body, leaving not even a scrap of clothing.
But the martial world never ceases its conflicts just because someone has "disappeared."
Very nice, I like it
