The story of season two of Let’s Start the Mystery in Zhen Town has officially wrapped. After months of filming, it’s finally over. She is Dilraba Dilmurat, the dazzling “Designer Bali” in front of the cameras, but in private, an actress who gets emotional at the thought of parting. He is Zhang Linghe, the calm and meticulous “Young Marshal He” on the show, and also the only person at the wrap party who noticed her quietly slip away and followed her out.
Their story begins after all the cameras have been turned off:
“Mr. Zhang, the variety show is over.” Watching him come after her, she waves her phone and jokes, “We don’t have to keep up appearances anymore.”
“I know.” He nods. In the gentle night, his usually cool features seem softer. “So the person standing here now is Zhang Linghe himself.”
He pauses, his gaze calm and intent.
“I want to know: throughout the entire second season, was the person I couldn’t help watching over and taking care of ‘Bali,’ or Dilraba Dilmurat?”
