In 2024, web-novel editor Luo Yuan transmigrates to a parallel world in 1997 after his computer short-circuits, and becomes a college student. The internet is just emerging, and web novels don't exist yet. Armed with knowledge of the web novels of the future, he first serializes his work on BBS forums to build a following, then creates a novel website and introduces the VIP subscription model. He breaks through the barriers between mediums to expand into IP adaptations, takes on critics, and protects copyrights. In the end, he builds a cultural empire, helps his girlfriend become a screen legend, and earns the title of the true "founding father of web novels."
