A hundred years ago, the Antarctic mist was not an invasion by the gods. It was humanity’s greed for divine power that turned sleeping gods into bloodthirsty “Plunderers.” A century later, gray-white mist rises once more over the East Sea. The forgotten remains of ancient gods, known as “Divine Corpses,” return to the world, bringing rot and madness as they devour three coastal provinces.
Lin Zhou is descended from the last generation of “Godcallers,” and his left eye can see the traces of Divine Corpses. While everyone believes that slaying the gods is the way to protect the world, he follows his grandfather’s notes and discovers the forgotten history of the guardians sealed beneath the Divine Corpses. With the help of Hongying, who wields a firearm; Cao Yuan, who can transform into a ferocious tiger; and Baili Pangpang, who possesses rare treasures, Lin Zhou touches the severed dragon head on the shore of the East Sea. Instead of “slaying,” he “calls,” awakening the Dragon King’s dormant mind and uncovering the truth behind the mist.
But peace is fleeting. Stolen Divine Corpse crystals, dark mist spreading through the northwest, and the shadow of the “God-Hunting Organization” from a century ago all resurface. They must awaken more fallen Divine Corpses, and face the monsters humanity created with its own greed.
When the gods’ good and evil depend on the hearts of humanity, will people repeat the mistake of plundering divine power a century ago, or protect the original purpose shared by gods and humans? This redemption and struggle spanning a hundred years has only just begun.
