The Pleasure of Ink

In the modern world, the heroine, Han Shuang, was an orphan who joined the military straight out of college. During a routine mission, she was killed by a traitor's bomb. She then carried her memories into the body of an eleven-year-old girl with the same name, a tiny, skinny child living in a remote mountain village in ancient times. Her new family loved one another dearly. They included her grandmother; her grandfather, who had passed away; her eldest uncle and aunt; and her father, Han Wensong, the second son. Her third uncle, Han Wenzhong, had once learned to hunt from a hunter in the village. Later, he had saved the male lead's father, who took him away to serve as a soldier. He had been away from home for three years. Her eldest uncle had three sons, and she was the only girl in the family, so everyone doted on her.

After arriving in this world, she went into the mountains to gather medicinal herbs. After accompanying her eldest brother to the capital for the imperial examinations, she bought a home there and brought her family to live with her. The male lead, Qi Yanzhi, was the son of a great general. Han Shuang once again saved him by chance when assassins were pursuing him, and that was how their bond began. The general's family was loyal to the emperor and patriotic, simple in their ways, and highly valued by the emperor. By another twist of fate, Han Shuang became the young master of Medicine King Valley. She helped the valley root out traitors, used treasures from her spatial realm to save lives, and fought side by side with Qi Yanzhi time and again, drawing on her modern knowledge.
