The Emperor's Son from a Humble Family

This is a story about family, political intrigue, and growing up.

World setting: The reigning empress, Wu Mingkong, the "Holy Divine Emperor," is a woman of extraordinary talent and ambition who uses unconventional methods. The protagonist, Li Xuan, is a modern university history student from a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, transported into this world.

Wu Mingkong secretly sends away the illegitimate son she had with her first love, who was not the previous emperor, and has him raised in a remote suburb to keep him safe. Since he is not the previous emperor's son, he can never inherit the throne by any accepted standard. And if one of Wu Mingkong's other sons ascends the throne, he will surely be the first to be eliminated as a potential stain and threat.

See how the protagonist turns the tables and defies fate!
