A torrential downpour extinguishes a raging fire. In the ruins, a faceless woman’s corpse lies amid the wreckage. Someone saw a disfigured man fleeing the scene, and when the police arrive, they find three suspicious footprints as well. Li Aihua, a police captain with a perfect record for solving cases and a knack for elaborate tricks, has no idea where to begin. At that very moment, an inspection team arrives to investigate her abuse of power and favoritism.

To protect herself, Li Aihua has no choice but to turn to the local master detective, Shangguan Du. Thus begins an alliance between two people with four different faces.

As the investigation deepens, a shocking secret tears them apart. Then another case enters the picture, bringing their battle of wits to a climax.

Just when everyone thinks the winner is clear and the case settled, the police witness the murder’s “truth” with their own eyes, only to discover it was all an act. A jaw-dropping twist leaves everyone stunned.
