A Baby Girl Falls from the Sky to Bring Good Fortune, and the Heirless Mogul Hooks a Catch

Three-year-old Li Bao was the baby her mother had carried off when she ran away years ago. Her mother was the real daughter of a wealthy family, but the family had never favored her. Once she became pregnant with Li Bao, they drove her out. Life was hard, but at last she had a home of her own, where she raised her little girl plump and rosy-cheeked. One day, the mother and daughter were tricked into returning to the family by her heartless parents. Her mother was tied up and about to be sold to an old man in exchange for an investment. Li Bao, too, was accidentally beaten to death and thrown down a hillside. At that very moment, the wealthy old lady of the Jing family was in the mountains praying for a child when a landslide struck. Seconds later, a baby suddenly fell from the sky. The old lady stared in shock at the little face, so much like her eldest grandson’s, then cried out with joy, “The heavens have finally answered my prayers! The Jing family has an heir!” Once she learned the truth, the old lady narrowed her eyes. “You dared lay a hand on the Jing family’s only heir? You’re asking for death!” - The Jing clan, a century-old family in the capital, was cursed. Tragedy had struck one after another for ten years, and the family’s descendants had dwindled. A master had predicted that the Jing family would be wiped out in another decade. Everyone was waiting to see which clan would take its place at the top. Newly brought home, Li Bao looked at the Jing family, shrouded in black qi, and suddenly grew excited. “It smells so good! Baby’s gonna gobble it all up…” Then the great-grandfather, who had been paralyzed in bed, suddenly stood up. The powerful heir who had been sabotaged and left without children escaped danger time and again. The frail, sickly aunt could run around outside again, and even the spoiled young uncle turned into an upright young man in an instant. Watching everyone hug and kiss the little bundle and toss her into the air, the powerful heir grinned triumphantly. “That’s my daughter!”
