[Organ anthropomorphism + daily life + popular science + funny + unit chapter + weak main line]
We often ask: "Who am I?" Perhaps the answer lies elsewhere but in ourselves - the orderly universe we call "body."
The United States of the Human Body is a journey of inward exploration. It restores the breathing, heartbeat, thinking and feeling we are accustomed to to an ancient and young country. Here, reason and instinct co-govern, desire and restraint are balanced, construction and defense coexist.
There is no dictator in this country. Its stability comes from the billions of cellular citizens performing their duties, and from a set of ancient wisdom of mutual restraint and dynamic balance. Through its story, we may be able to re-understand that "health" is not static, but a never-ending, exquisite internal dialogue; and "self" is the most magnificent harmony that emerges from this dialogue.
