The United States of the Human Body

[Anthropomorphized organs + everyday life + popular science + comedy + episodic chapters + light overarching plot]

We often ask, “Who am I?” Perhaps the answer is not somewhere else, but within us, in the orderly universe we call the “body.”

The United States of the Human Body is a journey of inward exploration. It reimagines the breathing, heartbeat, thoughts, and feelings we take for granted as a kingdom both ancient and young. Here, reason and instinct rule together, desire and restraint find balance, and construction goes hand in hand with defense.

There is no dictator in this kingdom. Its stability comes from billions of cellular citizens each doing their part, and from an ancient wisdom of mutual checks and balances. Through its story, we may come to understand that “health” is not a static state, but an intricate internal dialogue that never ends, and that the “self” is the most magnificent harmony to emerge from that dialogue.
