Lin Fan, an unemployed young man, is thrown by an accidentally activated ancient teleportation array into a bizarre otherworld during a thunderstorm in the Kunlun Mountains.
Here, an Eastern cultivation dynasty and a Western magic empire face off across a mountain range, locked in a war that has lasted a thousand years. Demons, dragons, elves, angels, and countless other races vie for supremacy in a world of endless conflict. Lin Fan ends up in a barren land overseas, where he witnesses exiled peoples struggling to survive.
Armed with modern knowledge and two systems of cultivation, he rises to power in this land. He rallies people with the ideal that “everyone is equal” and keeps the mighty in check with overwhelming force! He also combines modern military engineering with immortal arts and magic to build an invincible fleet. Steel warships patrol the vast seas, their hulls inscribed with immortal talismans and magical runes. They are both mobile fortresses of war and arks of hope in search of a way home.
When he leads his mighty army, united from races across East and West, back to the mainland, the entire world order is overturned. But Lin Fan’s goal has always been the stars and the sea. When the only clue to finding his way home points to the distant depths of space, an epic expedition combining immortal arts, magic, and technology sets sail!
