I'm a Professional God Slayer, Yet Dad Wants Me to Take the Imperial Exams

Ding Wen transmigrated to a cultivation world and became a butcher, awakening the “God-Slaying Blade Codex.”

As long as he held his butcher's knife, he could see his target's “Karmic Thread” weakness, sever it with a single slash, and absorb the target's talents! [Absorb the Heaven-Piercing Divine Eye, and see through all illusions!] [Absorb Sword Flight, and unleash ten thousand swords at once!] [Absorb the Law of Allure…]

Before long, Ding Wen used his extraordinary butchering skills to secretly slay demons and gods, becoming a forbidden existence feared throughout the Three Realms.

But he had one problem: his down-on-his-luck scholar father was convinced he was neglecting his studies and forced him to read and sit for the imperial exams every day.

“Unfilial son! You're the only heir of the Ding family for three generations. You're our one hope of bringing glory to our ancestors. How can you debase yourself by becoming a butcher who reeks of blood!”

“The daughter of Master Zhang, east of town, is both beautiful and talented. If you pass the imperial exam and become a provincial graduate, I'll swallow my pride and arrange a marriage proposal!”

Su Mu helplessly lowered his butcher's knife. “Dad, that Miss Zhang you're talking about is actually a nine-tailed celestial fox. She tried to eat me yesterday, so I chopped off eight of her tails…”

His father: “???”
