The Esper Training Program

In the apocalypse, humanity's abuse of nuclear weapons causes massive radiation to mutate all living things. The laws of genetics are shattered, monsters emerge everywhere and attack humans, and civilization teeters on the brink of collapse. To save humanity, the World Alliance is founded, establishing safe bases around the globe to defend against monster attacks. To mount an effective counteroffensive, a team of world-leading medical researchers forms a gene-editing unit to cultivate people with special abilities to fight the mutated monsters. Meanwhile, countless people whose families have been destroyed by monsters are lured by enormous rewards into signing up for the voluntary ability-evolution program. When a monster attack separates protagonist Kong Zhuozhuo from her mother, she overcomes one obstacle after another to enter a base in hopes of finding her. After learning that all refugees are being forced to participate in human experiments, she decides to put herself at risk to rescue her mother. But she carries a naturally occurring ability-resistant antibody, making her an ideal test subject. From then on, she becomes a prisoner of the world, subjected to countless drugs, surgeries, genetic edits, and inhuman experiments. She comes close to death again and again, and her abilities evolve time and again, until a loyalty gene is finally implanted. Her mother risks her life to set her free, triggering an explosive awakening of her powers. That day, she carries her gravely injured mother out of the base. The world is terrifying, but she must create a place of safety for the people she loves.
