In the twenty-fifth year of Jian'an (AD 220), Wang Ming withdrew from the power center of Wei by "faking his own death" and resigned from office and went into seclusion three months before Cao Cao's death. With many years of secret planning, he went to Ryukyu (Taiwan) with a team of secretly trained craftsmen to establish "Mingyi City" as a maritime trade hub. In his later years, he wrote "The Record of Stratagems in Troubled Times", which transformed modern knowledge into the "Twelve Strategies of Heavenly Secrets" that conformed to the understanding of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and was buried in the secret realm of Wuyi Mountain. Finally, in the year when Sun Quan became emperor (229), he died without any illness. Before his death, he burned all the evidence of the travelers and the tombstone was only engraved with "The Tomb of Wang Gong Shouyi, the General of the Han Dynasty who conquered the East".
