The story revolves around former reporter Zhao Mingxuan. After experiencing a series of seemingly accidental events, he discovered many anomalies hidden under the daily surface of modern cities. These phenomena cannot be explained by existing scientific knowledge and involve multiple levels such as time loops, parallel worlds, and memory tampering. In order to uncover the truth, Zhao Mingxuan formed an informal investigation team with psychological counselor Liu Ruyan, hacker Qian Kun, criminal investigation captain Fang Qing, and physics professor Professor Li. They each used their own professional knowledge and skills to try to solve these urban mysteries. As the investigation deepens, they discover that these abnormal events do not exist in isolation, but are controlled by some unknown force. Eventually, they will face the man behind everything and find the truth at the boundary between reality and illusion.
