Cheng Zezhou is hired to investigate paranormal cases. He teams up with police detective Qin Yulan, medium Shen He, and reporter An Mingyu, becoming entangled in a string of supernatural murders and discovering that the force behind them is far beyond human understanding. Together, they solve a series of mysterious cases involving deaths, disappearances, and curses, gradually exposing a vast conspiracy involving antique shop owner Lin Yiqiu, a vengeful spirit from a century ago, and a family curse. Multiple storylines unfold in parallel, with standalone paranormal cases and an undercurrent of a larger plot. In the end, they must choose between the truth and peace, and put an end to the century-old curse.
