In the twenty-seventh year of Guangxu's reign, strange things happened frequently in Qingzhu Village, Lingnan. Poultry died suddenly, villagers died mysteriously, and even the compass failed in the village. The pervasive corpse aura heralded a crisis that would destroy the village. Taoist priest Yimei and his disciples A Hao and A Ming came as requested and discovered that this was not simply evil - someone was using the corpse raising ground in the mass grave at the back of the village to breed zombies. They also used "soul-inducing clay figures" engraved with birth dates as bait to make the zombies accurately seek their lives, just to avenge the family blood feud twenty years ago.
The three masters and apprentices investigated the corpse raising place during the day and fought against the green-faced zombies at night. Unexpectedly, the zombies were just bait, and the mastermind behind the scenes had already set a trap in the village. From corpses in wells and burning houses to the sudden appearance of purple-clad zombies, the crisis is progressing layer by layer. When the avenger under the bronze mask reveals his past grievances, Taoist Master Yimei must not only prevent the fire of revenge from devouring the innocent, but also resolve the grievances that have accumulated for twenty years.
The story is based on traditional Taoism, interspersed with the game of good and evil in human nature. In the confrontation between Nuomi, Taomu Sword and zombies, it reveals a truth that has been buried by time, and also explains the moral truth of "when is the time to retaliate?"
