Stock Market Misconceptions

The Stock Market's Delusions is a clear-eyed guide to investing, written specifically for retail investors. Drawing on ten years of hands-on experience, the protagonist Ying Lan confronts the real struggles we all face when trading stocks: chasing rallies and selling in a panic, losing our capital; following rumors and becoming the market's sucker; failing to hold on to winning stocks; and stubbornly clinging to losing positions. Across 20 volumes and 200 chapters, the book explains everything from "Why do I lose money?" to "How do I make money?" It breaks down ten core challenges, including stock selection, buying and selling, position sizing, and long-term holding with swing trades. Rather than serving up feel-good platitudes or burying readers in formulas, it uses plain language to explain the art of being "roughly right": anchoring yourself to sound reasoning beats making predictions, short-term trading requires discipline, and long-term holding should be paired with swing trades to lower costs. Like an experienced friend who trades stocks, Ying Lan helps you escape the retail investor mindset of "believing every rumor," build a system, develop discipline, and manage risk. Losing money doesn't mean you're stupid. It means you haven't found a way to "stop making foolish trades." From "I'm afraid to lose, so I don't dare buy" to "I can sell steadily without panicking," from copying bits and pieces to building your own trading framework, this book is a guiding light for your journey through the stock market. It reminds readers that there's no foolproof secret to success, but by learning to "make fewer mistakes" and "get the general idea right," ordinary people can survive market swings longer and earn more steadily.
