Replay of the Human World: A Professor's Crime Investigation Notes

Chen Mo, a professor at Haichuan University, teaches criminal psychology by day and films the documentary Edge of the Line at night.

Minor cases happen frequently in Jiangcheng. Police files gather dust, and the truth lies buried in the folds of everyday life.

Every night after falling asleep, he unconsciously replays the scenes he witnessed that day.

By a stroke of luck, he gains a golden finger that automatically replays every detail of everything he has seen.

Focus on a clue for three seconds, and the next day he is guaranteed to encounter crucial evidence.

While others rely on deduction to find the truth, he completes the puzzle by replaying the past.

From fatal loan-sharking cases to livestream scams, he peels back the city's dark side, layer by layer.

No one has asked about a five-year-old cold case, but he alone remembers the footage from the victim's perspective.

When the replay connects with the memory of a widow from the shoe-repair shop, the old case finally begins to crack.

A hidden USB drive, bloodstains on the soles of shoes, a scar on the right hand: everything falls into place.

He is no longer a bystander recording events, but the one wielding the blade to break the case open.

At the alley's bustling entrance, wontons steam as the truth rises to the surface amid ordinary life.

No matter how deeply the world's crimes are hidden, they cannot escape his nightly replays.
