That Crybaby Junior Brother Is Actually the World-Destroying Demon Venerable?

[Reborn + two male leads + mutual salvation + deranged and obsessive + beautiful, powerful, and tragic]

A little scene:

Good news: Ye Junli has been reborn!

Bad news: He’s gone from a world-destroying Demon Venerable to a junior disciple everyone can bully.

Even worse news: The Immortal Venerable he’s been secretly in love with for tens of thousands of years, his sworn rival, is heading toward the same tragic fate as in his previous life!

To save him, Ye Junli begins clumsily trying to protect him.

Plan One: Rescue him from a demon beast.

Ye Junli rushed out and shouted, “Demon beast! I’ll fight you!”

Result: The demon beast sent Ye Junli flying with its tail, and he landed squarely in Shen Xi’s arms.

Shen Xi looked down at the blood-spitting Ye Junli in his arms, his expression complicated. “...Admirable courage.”

The whole sect thought he was using a ploy to win the Immortal Venerable’s attention. (He wasn’t!)

Plan Two: Clear his name.

Ye Junli anonymously delivered the evidence to his room.

Result: Shen Xi recognized him by his handwriting and publicly praised him the next day for “returning lost property.”

Shen Xi, patting his head in front of everyone: “Well done.”

The whole sect thought he had become the Immortal Venerable’s right-hand man. (He just wanted to be an anonymous nobody, okay!)

Plan Three: Take the blow for him when an assassin makes a lethal move.

Ye Junli “accidentally” knocked over the poisoned wine.

Result: Shen Xi pulled him behind himself, took every attack alone, then pinched his cheek and sneered, “Junior brother, how many times are you planning to die for me? Or… are you trying to make my heart ache to death?”

Ye Junli: !!! That’s not how the script goes!
