Orders from the Underworld: My Path to Calming Spirits

Winter descends on Jiangcheng. A cold snap rages, construction work cuts through the dragon vein of an ancient tomb, and the balance between yin and yang is shattered. The dead rise again.

Qi Dazhi is a single father who drives a ride-hailing car to raise his daughter. He’s a wisecracking, tough-as-nails sort who always says, “As long as you’re alive, you should enjoy yourself.”

One night, he mistakenly accepts a fare to “the Road to the Underworld” and encounters an old woman in funeral clothes and a subway car bound for the netherworld, plunging into a supernatural vortex.

By a stroke of luck, he gains a golden finger that lets him take fares from the underworld and cross the boundary between life and death in exchange for longevity coins.

He can see the obsessions of ghosts, wield yin energy for protection, and race his beat-up car along the edge of the underworld.

While everyone else avoids ghosts and runs for their lives, he logs on at three in the morning sharp and deliberately takes fares to haunted places.

When the seven earthly gateways open and the Soul-Summoning Order appears, he will tear apart the rules of the underworld and become the guardian of the living world.
