[Mystery + national destiny competition + soft sci-fi apocalypse]
In the age of strange tales, I was chosen to represent the Dragon Kingdom.
One teammate was Han Xin, a military champion who believed firepower was the ultimate truth. The other was Shu Yun, a beautiful, aloof woman known as a “human supercomputer.”
The whole world was waiting to laugh as we turned on each other.
That was until the S-rank instance [Infinite Loop Hospital] opened:
The Western team of wise men spent three days and three nights running simulations, yet their entire force was wiped out.
The shrine maiden exhausted all her shikigami and suffered a backlash from the rules.
At the brink of despair, the military champion turned to me. “Jian Cheng, who do we trust? Your instincts, or her logic?”
I looked at Shu Yun. For the first time, uncertainty showed in her eyes. “My model… is missing a key variable.”
I took a deep breath and pointed toward the morgue. “The variable is in there. My instincts tell me the answer is hidden in the most dangerous place.”
In that moment, logic and intuition merged for the first time. We saw that beyond the rules lay another layer… the authority of the Creator.
[Later, one saying spread across the global strange-tales forums: Don’t try to understand the Dragon Kingdom’s team with your logic, because their answers have never been within the rules.]
