The Curse of King Gesar

An epic in the vein of The Grave Robbers' Chronicles, rooted in the snow-covered Tibetan Plateau. When young Tibetan scholar Kangzhu Cairang spots the reflection of a temple dome that should not exist at the bottom of a lake in a thirty-year-old photograph, his peaceful life is shattered. Along with his girlfriend, Thangka painter Gesang Lamu, whose intuition borders on the supernatural, he is drawn into a vast mystery spanning millennia. Armed with a strange black stone that grows warm to the touch, the trio sets off on a perilous journey to the forbidden grounds of Mount Nyenchen Tanglha, pursued by mysterious guardians and facing hostile foreign forces. They must contend not only with extreme natural conditions, but also with supernatural powers sleeping beneath an icy lake, forces that could upend everything they know, and an ultimate choice about life, faith, and protection. Their journey leads at last to the holy city of the Potala Palace and Shangri-La
