My name is Hoshino Suzu. I was once a classical music prodigy, and now I’m a somewhat solitary high school student. I was born with a special ability: mind reading.

I thought that after that day, I’d be able to enjoy a peaceful school life. Instead, fate threw three bizarre band encounters my way.

The first band is made up entirely of people who torment themselves with their own thoughts. “Listening” to their inner voices as they torture one another feels like watching a slow-motion car crash. I could have walked away, if not for my poor childhood friend, Takamatsu Tomori. What? A gravitational field?!

The second band spends all day on the streets grilling one another with shouted questions that cut to the soul. Every clash between the vocalist and guitarist feels like the final gravitational entanglement of two stars before they die. In their narrow battlefield burns an exclusive, almost violent sense of belonging. Wait, why do I feel like those two are about to kiss?

The third band has a severely anxious guitarist, an impoverished “noble” bassist, a Shimokitazawa angel on drums, and a vocalist who brings all the energy. It might be the most ordinary and sincere of the three, but here, too, I “hear” no complicated emotions or conflict, only a warm chaos.

Because I can understand them, I don’t want to disturb the sincerity growing amid that chaos. And I don’t want to dilute their anger at facing the world head-on. So I’m running toward the noisy, chaotic home where even your “superpowers” can go to hell.
