In the fall of her sophomore year in high school, Su Wan suddenly fainted in physical education class. After being rushed to the hospital, she was diagnosed with severe heart failure. The doctor said the only hope was a heart transplant.
During that time, Lu Zhi seemed to be a changed person. He no longer skipped classes, showed up at the hospital on time every day, clumsily peeled apples for her, and copied crooked class notes for her to read. Su Wan was lying on the bed, looking at the scar on his forehead (left when he helped her retrieve the stolen notebook last week), and asked in a low voice: "Lu Zhi, do you think I'm troublesome?"
He was stuffing a fruit candy into her hand. When he heard this, he raised his eyebrows and flicked her forehead with his fingertips: "Nonsense, otherwise you think I come here every day to see you in a daze?" But when he turned around, his fingers holding the candy wrapper were shaking - in his pocket was the diagnosis report he had just received: advanced brain glioma, at most half a year away.
Not long after, Lu Zhi suddenly began to alienate Su Wan. He no longer came to the hospital, and deliberately avoided her when they met at school. Even when Su Wan came to see him after being discharged from the hospital, he put his arm around the shoulders of a strange girl and said in a cold tone: "Su Wan, stop pestering me. I'm already bored."
Su Wan's world suddenly collapsed. She hid at home and cried for several days until the hospital informed her that a matching heart source had been found. The donor was an anonymous young man who was confirmed to be brain dead.
I can cry to death
