The story takes place in the fictional city of Winter City, which is prosperous on the surface but is actually undercurrents and the crime rate remains high. Senior detective Eric Hall and forensic examiner Lilia Chen team up to solve a series of bizarre cases. As the investigation deepened, they discovered that these cases were inextricably linked, and there was a huge conspiracy hidden behind them. The appearance of criminal psychologist Victor Leon provided new clues to the case and also plunged Eric into deeper confusion. The addition of newspaper reporter Elizabeth Green brought the case into public view, causing greater social shock. Eric must find the truth in the fog, expose the darkness hidden under the surface, and finally complete his own redemption.
