Cold Voice, Yearning for Snow

Snow falls over the palace, while the fragrance of plum blossoms stirs beneath the surface. A painting, Snow Plum Blossoms and Chilled Sparrows; a tune, Three Variations on the Plum Blossom; and a cup of Mengding spring tea bring Su Muxue and Xiao Hansheng together and draw them closer. He is a proud young nobleman caught in a political cold front; she is a gifted woman with a compassionate heart. Their love is like winter plum blossoms in the snow, quietly releasing its most delicate fragrance in the coldest place.

Yet the palace's undercurrents never cease. Chancellor Lin Wenyuan lurks like a bitter wind, seeking to break this increasingly graceful “plum tree.” Poetry can express one's aspirations, but it can also become a weapon in the struggle for power. Love can warm the heart, but it can also become a fatal weakness. Between the trial of “frost clinging to iron-hard branches” and their resolve that “a world of their own awaits,” can they protect this hard-won warmth and live to see their own “clear skies over snow”?
