In the Name of the People: From the Start, I Tear Chen Yanshi a New One

At 33, Han Feng boasts the elite pedigree of a third-generation official and has spent years honing his skills at the Central General Office. A single transfer order sends him from the capital, where powerful figures gather, to Jingzhou, Handong Province, where undercurrents run deep.

As soon as he arrives, he takes a hard line, publicly blasting the retired Chen Yanshi for trading on his seniority and interfering in matters in violation of regulations. His words shock everyone and shatter Handong’s delicate balance. The move not only earns him the enmity of the highly respected Chen Yanshi, but also draws the scrutiny and displeasure of Sha Ruijin, along with the hostility and investigation of Hou Liangping, a self-proclaimed champion of justice with powerful connections.

With Sha Ruijin watching him, Hou Liangping making things difficult, and local interest groups led by the Zhao family closing in, how will Han Feng use his foresight, formidable skills, and hidden resources to break through the tangled web of Handong politics?

He has no interest in a simplistic, self-righteous black-and-white morality. Instead, he knows how to wield political strategy. He does more than solve cases and fight corruption: he attracts investment and develops the economy, letting tangible achievements speak for themselves. From taking on Chen Yanshi to making peace with Sha Ruijin, from resolving the trouble Hou Liangping causes to finally uprooting the rot entrenched in Handong, Han Feng follows an unconventional path of breaking down and rebuilding.

This is a high-stakes contest of intellect and power.
