Fu Dongjue stared at the pigs in the pen, so skinny they looked like walking skeletons, and her mouth twitched harder than a pig’s tail. Getting struck by lightning and turned into a neutrino in her previous life was one thing, but in this life she’d been bound to a pig-raising System. Her daily KPI was to fatten up this herd of “slim-model pigs” for market, or she wouldn’t even be able to scrape together enough for high school tuition.
Every day, she got up before dawn to cut pigweed, outwit the wicked villagers, and trade insults with the aunties at the village entrance through mountain songs. She was basically a super low-budget contestant on Survival in the Wilderness.
Just as she was once again wielding a manure scoop and sparring with one of the aunties, a horde of black-suited older men came charging out of nowhere, shouting, “Third Miss, the master and madam want you to come home!”
Fu Dongjue was dumbfounded.
Home? Wasn’t the place where she’d lived for fourteen years right behind her!?
Damn human traffickers! Were they really going to put on a whole act just to abduct an orphan girl!
