The bones of mortals conceal the path to immortality, and even in the dust lies a world of its own. This reflects the protagonist's rise from humble beginnings and his struggle to break free of a predetermined fate. The story depicts the poverty and oppression of Qigu Village, where Shen Yan is shunned but persists in caring for Ahe. By chance, he discovers dust-covered bones inscribed with runes in an ancient pool behind the village. When he touches them, he blacks out and sees fragments of an ancient battlefield in a dream.
