Are There Any Novels in Which Both the Male and Female Protagonists Are Unclean?

After reading so many novels for so many years, they are either about two pure characters or about a male protagonist who is unclean and a female protagonist who is clean, or else there are two male protagonists or two female protagonists. It seems that I have not seen a good novel in which both male and female protagonists are unclean. Alas.
