Historical, ancient setting, fictional world, emperor, political intrigue, court politics, an emperor’s growth, no female lead, a touch of comedy
I’m Chen Mo, an overworked office drone who accidentally transmigrated into the dragon throne of the Great Jing Dynasty. I thought I could lie flat and watch the emperor run the country, but I was forced to switch into “eavesdropping and helping him out” mode.
I listen to the socially anxious new emperor Xiao Jingyan muttering to himself on my back, and watch the Empress Dowager and powerful ministers take turns “educating” him.
Luckily, I can “work behind the scenes”: I shake to warn him of assassins, change my temperature to convey emotions, and even help him expose poisoning plots and deal with droughts.
Now war has broken out at the border again, and Xiao Jingyan is leading the army himself. I have to guard the imperial palace and, while I’m at it... keep eavesdropping on the palace’s secrets and watch this young emperor grow, with my “divine assists,” into a wise ruler!
