A chance encounter in an autumn library was like a pebble tossed into two tranquil worlds, both hiding ripples beneath the surface.
She was Bai Ge, a country girl whose wings were still growing, but who longed for the sky. She thought she had found a cloud that could show her the way.
He was Fu Yunxin, a professor at a prestigious university, learned yet lonely inside, as if he had found a light he’d lost long ago.
As their minds and hearts resonated over books and ideas, their feelings quietly grew. But the chasm of age and class wasn’t the only thing between them. There was also an insurmountable wall called “marriage.”
This was a forbidden love that began with a meeting of souls and ended in a reckoning with reality. They danced on the tightrope of morality, suspended between sweetness and guilt. When rumors cut like knives and pressure weighed like a mountain, could the promise “Wait for me” carry them through the winter’s wind and snow?
Bai Ge and Yunxin were, in the end, only a chance encounter beneath the open sky. A poignant story about love, growth, and letting go slowly unfolds.
I like this novel very much. The characters written by the author have delicate emotions and touch the communication of the soul! In a society where materialism is rampant and money is paramount, how many holy and pure souls can there be? Is it because there is too little resonance in the spiritual realm? Or have the real interests been exposed too much, allowing the ugly side to reappear?
