The Imperial Exams: I Sent Every Good-for-Nothing to the Hanlin Academy

Fang Che, a prizewinning cram-school teacher, transmigrates by accident and becomes a scholar scraping by as a tutor in a remote village school in the Great Ning dynasty.

He also inherits a group of good-for-nothing students rejected by every school.

One stutters, another is a troublemaker, and one is the illiterate son of a butcher.

Fortunately, the System awakens. As long as he improves his students' grades, he earns rewards.

So he develops his own teaching methods: using rap to memorize the classics, mind maps to analyze policy essays, and tabletop simulations to explain military strategy.

Everyone mocks him for neglecting proper studies, eager to see him make a fool of himself.

But at the county exams, his good-for-nothing students sweep the top three places!

At the prefectural exams, every one of them passes!

At the academy exams, the top scorer is his student too!

Before long, the doors of the powerful and wealthy are trampled underfoot as they clamor for a place in his lessons.

Fang Che smiles faintly. “Want to attend my class? Go scrub toilets for three months first and learn some humility.”

He never sits the imperial exams, yet his students become pillars of the realm.

When his students fill the imperial court, the emperor personally bestows on him a plaque naming him the emperor's teacher, then asks respectfully, “Sir, please enlighten me on the art of governing the realm!”
