The most touching feature of this novel is that it disassembles grand emotional propositions into the fabric of life. There are no deliberately sensational scenes. The protagonist's joy and sorrow are hidden in the warm bowl of porridge in the morning, in the phone call that was left hanging late at night, and even in the silence where he hesitated to speak.
