The time span is from the Chongzong period of Xixia (the end of the 11th century) to the fall of Xixia (1227), covering the key stages of Xixia's transition from prosperity to decline, and finally its destruction by Mongolia. The space is centered on Xingqing Prefecture (today's Yinchuan), radiating to the Hexi Corridor and the Helan Mountain area, involving Dangxiang tribal settlements, the Song-Xia border, Mongolian grasslands and other scenes, showing the Dangxiang people's nomadic and farming life style, as well as the complex relationship between Xixia and Song, Liao, Jin and Mongolia.
