Bride of the Ghost Festival: The King of the Underworld's Spirit Medium

Born on Ghost Festival, Su Qingyan was blamed for her mother’s death after an ominous blood-cloud appeared. She could see spirits from childhood and was regarded as ill-omened. At twelve, she was on the brink of death after being tormented by a vicious ghost when the Netherworld King, Xie Xuanchen, appeared and saved her. He arranged for her to marry him at eighteen, making her his queen and a spirit-walker who would ward off evil and protect her life.

On her eighteenth birthday, a bridal sedan from the underworld arrived at her door, bearing a Yang-Boosting Pill and a Spirit Lantern as betrothal gifts. She followed the outwardly cold but inwardly warm Netherworld King into the underworld, guiding souls with her lantern and joining him in solving a scholar’s wrongful death and vanquishing sinister tree spirits. At last, between the realms of yin and yang, they found a happy ending together, spending their lives side by side with children gathered around them and peaceful days stretching on.
