After "Annihilation", the world was shrouded in gray fog, and the old civilization was reduced to rusty remains, rotting amid the roars of monsters called "abnormalities." Humanity huddles in the last fortress city, relying on the excavation of "relics" of previous civilizations to survive.
Lin Chuan is a relic recovery officer at the lowest level of the Seventh Fortress. His job is to race against death in the gray fog and bring back the leftovers of the old era to the upper class. He was used to the smell of metal, to his companions disappearing silently around him, to a sky where he could never see stars when he looked up.
Until that day, deep in a completely forgotten ruin, he discovered something that shouldn't exist - a spotless brass compass amidst dust and decay.
