In the last days when the "Grey Mist Disease" broke out and civilization was reduced to scrap metal and rust, Xiao Yanci, a former keeper of historical documents, a useless "nerd" in the eyes of others, survived in the wilderness relying on his memory of the knowledge of the old world and his extraordinary calmness. During an accidental scavenger hunt, he discovered a dusty military data terminal, which contained sporadic information about the "Ark Project" in the doomsday shelter. This illusory hope became his only motivation to live. In order to gather equipment and embark on a journey to find the "Ark", he was forced to form an alliance with a pair of "father and daughter" with mysterious backgrounds - the taciturn former soldier Lao Hei and the observant girl Meiko. The three people, with their own secrets and purposes, formed a fragile team. They will travel through a dead city occupied by "wanderers" and deal with unpredictable survivor strongholds. They will not only have to fight against deadly threats from the outside world, but also face the rifts within the team caused by suspicion and information gaps. Xiao Yanci must use his "useless" knowledge to find a way to the unknown for himself and his companions on this wasteland.
