The story takes place in Nanling City, Nanjiang Province - a city that appears prosperous and peaceful, but actually hides thousands of years of ghost legends. There are CBDs lined with high-rise buildings, ancient alleys paved with bluestones, the mist-shrouded Tianmu Mountain, and the Qingyi River passing through the city. Hidden in these landscape streets and alleys are a group of supernatural beings - "spirits" originating from "The Classic of Mountains and Seas" and "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio".
The history of Nanling is closely tied to the "Embroidered Clothes Envoy": the Embroidered Clothes Envoy originated from the "Embroidered Clothes Direct Messenger" of the Han Dynasty. They were originally officials sent by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty to supervise local areas, and later gradually evolved into "spiritual managers" passed down from generation to generation, specializing in restraining spirits that harm human beings. The mission can be traced back to the legend of "Dayu settled the nine states and drove away strange beasts" recorded in the "Book of Mountains and Seas". Now, Su Mu, the last generation of embroiderer, will reveal the secrets of the spiritual world in this city and fight against the "Black Ice Platform" who tries to control spirits and subvert the order.
