Su Mu, a returnee with a Ph. D. In environmental studies, gave up her high-paying job in the city and returned to her grandfather's hometown to start an ecological farm and grow pollution-free fruits. She used what she learned to improve soil quality and introduced an "ecological recycling" model (raising poultry from farm waste). The farm had just started to improve, but it was polluted by a nearby chemical factory and its fruit production was reduced. Su Mu worked with the villagers to collect evidence of pollution from the chemical plant and reported it to the environmental protection department. In the end, the chemical plant was rectified and the farm restored its ecology. Su Mu also led the villagers to develop "eco-tourism" to rejuvenate the countryside.
