Yesterday, the supermarket had a “buy two cartons of eggs, get one free” deal. I just thought to myself, “If only I had a few more of me,” and the next second, three clones wearing identical plaid shirts appeared, staring at the egg shelf with huge shopping baskets. I was mortified!
My name is Aliang. I’d just gotten my allowance and wanted to stock up. The moment the thought crossed my mind, there was a crash behind me, and three clones appeared in perfect unison. The one on the left grabbed a shopping cart and shouted through a megaphone, “We’re buying all the eggs!” His voice drowned out the speakers playing square-dancing music. The one in the middle pulled out a calculator and worked out, “Fifty jin will last us until next month. We should grab another twenty jin of braised meat, too.” The one on the right stuffed eggs into his basket and asked, “Should the clones race for the last piece of pig’s head meat?”
I grabbed the clone with the megaphone, trying to limit the damage, but he earnestly asked, “You said this morning you wanted to do three things at once. We were even thinking of sending two of us to pay while the others carried the beer!”
